What is the difference between a custom and the custom-standard unit?
Custom units are our handcrafted wigs that are made from scratch. Using your measurements, we build a template and create a unit to the exact size of your head. From here we go on to create a natural hairline and the perfect style to match your lifestyle.
Custom-Standard units are created as a standard medium size. These units are made with an adjustable band, which allows a comfortable fit for an average sized head.
Who wears these wigs?
Up until recent years, lace wigs have been worn primarily by actors and people who suffered from hair loss due to medical problems such as cancer and alopecia. Now, lace wigs have exploded into the mainstream hair and beauty scene as more and more people discover their versatility and natural appearance. These wigs have also become increasingly popular among celebrities.
What is the difference between a Full lace wig and a Front lace wig?
Full Lace wigs are designed with the entire wig cap being made from lace allowing for style versatility including multi-directional parting and the ability to style high up-dos and ponytails. Lace front wigs or front lace wigs have lace in the front of the wig and the remainder of the wig is made from a regular netted wig cap. As a result, lace front wigs have limited styling possibilities.
Can I wear lace wigs if I have a full head of hair?
Yes! You can braid/cornrow, wrap, or flatten hair to prepare for application. The main objective is to get one's hair as flat as possible for the most natural look.
Are wigs really undetectable?
Once applied correctly our wigs are, indeed, very undetectable. We encourage you to book an appointment with us for your first experience.
How do I know if the lace color you have will suit my complexion?
Many of our units have medium brown lace. Medium brown is suitable for a large range of complexions. We offer HD and transparent lace upon request.
Can I swim in it or play sports?
Yes! You can swim in your lace wig if you have waterproof adhesive, however we highly recommend not exposing your lace wig to chlorine and salt water. You can exercise in your wig if the wig is applied with an appropriate adhesive that can withstand this type of activity. For more information on caring for your wig with sports and exercise, schedule a virtual consultation.
Can I part my lace wig? Where can lace wigs be parted?
Yes, our wigs offer maximum versatility and several part options. Schedule a consultation to learn more.
Can I color the wig?
Yes. Always seek a professional with experience in coloring hair extensions to achieve the best results.
Can the hair be flat ironed or curled?
The hair is 100% human hair therefore you can use curling and flat irons. However, like your natural hair, the hair can get damaged from excessive heat. Always use a heat protectant when applying heat to your extensions.
Will a lace wig damage my hairline?
No. A properly applied and removed lace wig will not damage your hairline. Please make sure you use an oil based solvent for removal to prevent the hair around your hairline from breaking off. When possible, have a professional apply and remove your wig.
Do lace wigs shed?
Yes, some shedding is to be expected due to the fact that the hair on lace wig is hand tied by a single knot (sometimes double knots) to the lace. As with natural hair, brushing, combing and styling can lead to shedding.
What type of hair is a lace wig made of?
Our wigs are made with the highest quality Indian and European extensions. Our Virgin hair is a superior human hair grade that is collected from a single hair donor. The cuticle layer of the hair is left intact making the hair easy to manage and tangle free.
How long will my wig last?
Our wigs generally last anywhere from 3-5 years depending on care and how often you wear it. Be sure to check out our maintenance services and packages.
How do I attach or wear the wig?
If it is your first time wearing a wig we recommend that you have it professionally installed. After the first installation, many of our clients are comfortable applying their glueless units themselves. We recommend that a professional apply your unit if you prefer to use adhesive.
How long does a wig that is applied with adhesive last?
This will depend largely upon what type of adhesive you use and how it responds to your body chemistry. Most of our customers achieve a 2 to 3 week hold with the right adhesive. We do not recommend keeping the wig on for more than three weeks because over extended wears can cause damage to your natural hair line. Find an adhesive that works for you and your body chemistry. The best way to find the one is by consulting with a professional.
What density should I order and why does it matter?
Density is defined as how thick or thin the hair on the unit is. The standard and most popular choice is medium-thick density (180%). The average human head is considered 100% density so 180% is thicker. Most women achieve a natural appearance with medium density; however, your choice will depend on your personal style preference. Heavier density is available upon request.
What are bleached knots?
Bleached knots is a technique where we bleach out the knot that is made when strands of hair are hand-tied into the lace at the base of the cap. It bleaches the knot out, making it a little lighter so that it does not stand out as much. It gives it a more natural appearance as though the hairs are growing out of the scalp. This is recommended when you choose a dark hair color.
